Let's Learn About... CHIPMUNKS

  • CHIPMUNKS are part of the squirrel family.

  • They are omnivores and eat lots of seeds, nuts, and fruits.  At times, they may eat insects or other small critters.

  • It is most likely that their name comes from the 'chipping' sound they make.

★ SNOOT'S SUB of the MONTH ★

CONGRATULATIONS to REBECCA for being Snoot's Sub of the Month Pick! Read on to learn about Rebecca!

R3: What’s your favorite animal at the rescue and why? REBECCA: My favorite animal at the rescue today has to be the Harris the hawk who recently underwent a wing amputation. Harris shows bravery and is a sweet bird. I look forward to seeing him flourish despite his disability.  R3: Tell us your favorite rehab intake you've been a part of? REBECCA:  My favorite intake so far is the 4 baby raccoons that I got to help raise. To see where they started and where they are now is a great reminder of why I do this. R3: What is your favorite part of being at the rescue? REBECCA: My favorite part of being at the rescue is absolutely, hands down, bottle feeding babies. The chance to give these babies a fighting chance at life is so rewarding. Sometimes it is just undoing human intervention, sometimes it is nursing the sick and injured. It is all amazing.  R3: Any advice for someone looking to volunteer? REBECCA:  My advice for someone who wants to volunteer is to just jump in and try it. Some days will be hard, more of those days will amazing. We have an awesome team who with communication overcome all obstacles and have built a community committed to helping animals.  Congrats! We love you, and appreciate all the hard work you've done!
